Brother-in-law has died
In a previous post, I said that a brother-in-law was diagnosed with metastasized lung cancer. He died today, many months short of the time he was estimated to have left. It was his heart that did it.
I'm very sorry to hear that. As I mentioned before, I lost my uncle last year under similar circumstances (he was given 1-2 years and lasted less than two months). It's never easy.
I wonder - if I were diagnosed with a certain number of months to live, would I want to eek out those months just waiting to die, or let my heart take me by surprise?
I'm sorry to hear about your brother in-law, and for what all who love him are going through.
The friend who died of stomach cancer a few weeks ago said at one point that if he had an OFF button, he'd press it. I think that feeling is common with people in such a situation.
I'm getting the impression - maybe false - that his death wasn't as great a surprise to some of the KC family as it was to us. Perhaps seeing him on a regular basis, they could tell that his health was failing.

My sympathies to your entire family.
You have my sympathies as well.
