But I did write a scene in which a character lifted weights. Does that count?

That depends... how hard was it to write?
Well, the overall scene was somewhat autobiographical, so it did involve some moderately heavy emotional effort. On the other hand, I was smiling while writing it, whereas actual lifting involves grimacing.
Did you sweat?
I don't think so. I normally only do that when I'm writing sex scenes. Or thinking about bills.
